Short biography:
Dr. Silkoff has worked as a senior auditor for Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte & Touche), as a cost analyst and accounting
manager for Raybestos-Manhattan, Inc., and as partner in Slossberg, Sachs and Milone (now Konowitz Kahn) in New Haven over the past 21
years. He has been a CPA since 1982 and has previously taught at Southern Connecticut State University, Quinnipiac College and the
University of New Haven. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management
Accountants, the American Accounting Association and the American Hospital Association.
Teaching interests:
His teaching concentrations include financial auditing, Federal individual taxation, financial statement analysis and managerial
accounting.
Research areas:
Dr. Silkoff’s research focuses on business and financial valuation methodology and decision making in auditing and management
accounting. He conducts a good deal of research in the area of hospital system accounting, healthcare financial performance and
reporting, and financial management. Dr. Silkoff’s research and papers have been presented at numerous conferences of the American
Accounting Association, Northeast Business and Economic Association and the New England Business Administration Association.
