Andy currently is a Senior Vice President and Partner of Fuss & O’Neill, a Connecticut-based consulting firm that has been in business for over 90 years. He is also a Connecticut Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP). In his position, Andy leads a team of environmental professionals that provides a broad range of consulting services including environmental site assessments, hydrogeologic investigations, and remedial planning and design. Andy believes that the Environmental Earth Science Program at Eastern Connecticut State University provided him an excellent technical foundation and has allowed him and many of his colleagues to be at the forefront of their field; he stated that “many people who went through the program are active industry leaders.”
Andy credits the faculty at Eastern Connecticut State University for the long record of success amongst graduates. He describes the faculty as “very motivating instructors who truly want you to do well and provide the students with the direction and guidance necessary to achieve their individual goals.” Andy also credits the internships offered to EES majors as a critical point in his career, claiming his showed him “what the real world was like and helped him focus on his ultimate career path.” Andy still interacts daily with his college classmates who have now turned into business associates and great friends; it was with these individuals Andy set his educational foundation and it is with these same individuals that Andy has carved out a very successful career.
Andy’s extensive community service involvement includes serving on the Fundraising Committee of the Boy Scouts Connecticut Rivers Council and the Technical Advisory Board of Norwalk Community College. He is also a committee chair with the Glastonbury Elks and active with his church, and in the past has coached soccer, basketball and baseball with Glastonbury Youth Sports.
