  Using a Spectrophotometer

One of the commonest tools used in Cell and Molecular Biology is the spectrophotometer. Many chemicals absorb light at different wavelengths (colors) and measuring how much light is absorbed at one or more wavelengths can tell you about the quantity and purity of different molecules in a solution. You are expected to become familiar with both the use and theory of spectrophometry as a part of your training.
