Peter Maneggia concluded his fourth season in the program in the fall of 2011. After serving as interim head coach, Maneggia was selected as the seventh permanent coach in program history in February of 2012.

Maneggia, also a member of the Eastern softball coaching staff, brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to the program, with previous head softball coaching jobs at Division I College of Holy Cross and Division III St. Joseph’s College of Hartford.. He also was an assistant at Division I Central Connecticut State University and at Division III Trinity College, and served for one year as assistant at Eastern under former head softball coach Tom York. Maneggia has also coached at the high school level, with tenures at Coventry High School and Griswold High School.

For many years, Maneggia has also been involved with various camps, including Huskies Camp at the University of Connecticut and Wolfpack Camp at North Carolina State. Also, Maneggia has been a long-time staff member of the Championship Softball Camp, including Co-Director from 1999 through ‘03. He is also been a part of many clinics including Northbridge (MA) Little League and the Championship Softball Clinic.

In 2003, the Andover resident traveled to Sydney and Brisbane, Australia as a head coach in the Coast-to-Coast Tours Friendship Tournament, his team placing third.

Maneggia is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association and formerly served as NFCA Hall of Fame Representative and as the Connecticut High School Representative.

Maneggia is a 1988 graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a B.S. Degree in Human Service Administration.
