Career Statistics through 2011/12

Coach Bierly: “Sam has come along and had a really good preseason. We’re looking for her to step up and establish herself this season. She’s an overall solid player on both ends of the court. We need her to do a little bit of everything, including guarding the other team’s best shooting guard. She makes all of the hustle plays and always seems to be in the right place at the right time. She’ll also need to score points.”

2010/11: Among four second-year letterwinners... came off the bench in 24 games for NCAA tournament qualifier...  fourth on the team with 12 three-point FGs...  shot 80.0 percent (12-for-15) from the foul line...  had a season-high 12 points (3-for-3 from two-point range) in 19 minutes in a season-opening win over Maine at Presque Island in the Eastern Tip-Off tournament...  turned the ball over more than once only once in her last 15 appearances... season-highs (p-r-a-3s): 12-4-3-3)...

2009/10: Among eight newcomers to the program... among five players to see action in all 26 games and the only one to come off the bench in each... in an average of 12.0 minutes, averaged 2.6 points and 1.7 rebounds with .289 shooting and .625 free throw percentage... one of five players to can at least ten three-pointers...  scored a season-high 16 points in her collegiate debut Nov. 21 in a +65-55 opening win of the Eastern Tip-Off Tournament... converted five of eight field goals in that game (3-of-4 from three-point range)... in 14 regular-season LEC games, averaged 1.7 points and 1.1 rebounds in an average of 9.1 minutes... season-highs (p-r-a-3s): 16-6-3-3

Career-highs (thru 10/11): 28 min., 16 pts., 6 rebs., 3 assists, 1 block, 2 steals, three 3-pters. ...

High School: Four-year member of basketball program who also played soccer and softball... as a junior and senior captain in basketball, was named all-conference and as the team’s best defensive player… helped team to Class “M” state championship as a junior and into Class “L” semifinals as a senior, when the team was undefeated during the regular season…tabbed as Christmas tournament MVP…

Other: In the summer of 2011, played in the New Haven league...
