Eastern alumnus Stan Harris returns to the staff of head coach Denise Bierly for the fifth season, bringing more than 20 years of coaching experience to the position.

A 1988 Eastern graduate, Harris brought more than ten years of high school head coaching to his current position -- as head boys’ coach at Parish Hill High School in Chaplin, and most recently, Lyman Memorial High School in Lebanon.

Harris began his coaching career in 1989 as an assistant boys’ basketball coach at Windham Regional Vocational Technical High School in Willimantic.  The first shortstop in Eastern baseball history to start all four seasons Harris served ten seasons as assistant and head baseball coach at his alma mater -- Windham High School.

At Eastern, Harris was a member of four NCAA tournament teams between 1983 and 1986, including the 1983 Northeast Regional championship club which competed in the Division III national tournament. He was named to the All-New England team as both a sophomore and junior and graduated ranked first all-time in steals, second in assists, third in at-bats and sixth in hits.  In November of 2008, he was inducted into the Eastern/E-Club Hall of Fame for his baseball accomplishments.

Harris currently serves as Director of Athletics at Mansfield Middle School, where he also teaches fifth grade reading and social studies
