Kris Johnson, a former five-year player in the program, returns for the third season as an assistant to head coach Bill Geitner.
A native of Sturbridge, MA, Johnson was a three-year regular in the lineup after appearing in only five games off the bench as a freshman. He enjoyed his most productive seasons as a sophomore in 2005/06 and as a junior in 2007/08 (he was a medical redshirt in 2006/07 due to a broken left thumb).
As a sophomore, he led the Warriors in three-point field goals, attempts and percentage. As a junior, he started 18 of the team’s 26 games for the 13-13 Warriors, sinking a team-high 63 three-pointers. The three-pointers were the second-most in a season in program history and ranked him second in the Little East Conference in three-pointers per game and third in total three-pointers. That year, he also broke his own program game record by converting nine three-point field goals in a 91-80 road victory over Massachusetts Boston.
Johnson served as team captain and was second on the club with 28 three-point field goals. He ranks fourth all-time with 147 career three-pointers.
Johnson holds a B.S. Degree in Physical Education with minors in Health and Coaching.
