Third-year transfer from UMass Amherst… co-captain… two-year letterwinner and third year in program… second among returnees with 48 starts last year… only returnee to start every game in which he appeared last year… should return to second base and may bat eighth in the order… at Eastern has started all 103 games in which he has appeared, missing only three games… leads active players in games and starts, at-bats (391), and assists (258) and shares first place in doubles (20) and is third in total bases (134)… needs 61 assists to break into the all-time Top Ten in that category… son of Eastern baseball Hall of Famer Steve Thomas ’76, the program’s career pitching win leader and first first-team All-America…

 LAST YEAR: Made a successful transition to second base after two straight collegiate seasons at shortstop… recorded over 100 assists for the second straight year…  made 39 of his 48 starts at second base and the other nine at short… batted second in the order 28 times…scored twice in a game seven times and collected at least two hits in 11 games, including five games with three or more… commited only five errors in his final 37 games… handled ten chances in the field without an error once and nine flawlessly another time… had three hits in the final game of the year to up his average 11 points…  

AS A SOPHOMORE: Led all newcomers in batting, his average ranking him fifth among all regulars… at shortstop, started every game in which he appeared, sitting out just one game… recorded a program-record 157 assists and also topped the club with 12 sac bunts… helped program set season records for putouts, assists, chances and double plays… batted in six different spots in the lineup, but primarily at No. 2 (18 times) and No. 6 (16)… a 12-game hitting streak during the season was the fourth-longest by a player and longest among this year's returnees… total of 21 multiple-hit games was second only to Marc Garofalo and was the most among returnees to the 2007 sqaud… led all players by collecting two hits 18 times… had a season batting average under .300 only once through the first 27 games… was batting .391 through the first ten games, which included an eight-game hitting streak… was perfect in the field in 36 games, committing more than one error in a game only four times… only player to register four hits in a game more than once, performing the feat twice… was 4-for-5 in his third start May 11 vs. Worcester State and 4-for-6 with a season-high three RBI and season-tying two runs April 8 vs. Plymouth State… had  a double and two RBI in the regional title game vs. Cortland State… with a .333 post-season batting avg/, batted 40 percentage points about his regular-season avg. of .293… handled 92 chances in the field in post-season play, recording a team-high 58 assists… scored the game-ending run on a suicide squeeze in the bottom of the ninth inning of the 9-8 national tournament win over N.C. Wesleyan…

PRIOR TO EASTERN: Spent the 2005 season at Division I University of Massachusetts, appearing in 23 games with 18 starts for the 16-33 Minutemen... made his collegiate debut as the starting shortstop at New Orleans in the team's second game of the year... as the No. 9 hitter in the lineup in that game, was 2-for-4... defensively, had five assists and a putout... 

 HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year baseball starter at shortstop who also ran track for two seasons... batted .381 on a 15-5 baseball team as a senior, when he was named to the all-state team... first freshman baseball starter in high school program history...
