Attended Marist College for two years (2006 through 2008) prior to enrolling at Eastern in the fall of 2008…  used one year of eligibility in the spring of 2008… appeared in 23 games with 13 starts for the 19-28 Red Foxes, batting .244 (11-for-45) with 5 runs scored, 7 RBI and 12 total bases… defensively, handled 44 chances with one assist and one error…

Coach Holowaty: "Hopefully, Shane can have a great senior year. He's another transfer who ’s been a role player for us. He is certainly a ballplayer who’s got to step up his senior year. He’ll be a very important cog if he steps up. Right now, he’s one of our starting outfielders, and our leadoff guy. We need him to get on base, and be a smart baserunner and set the table for us."

High School: Four-year starter on both baseball and football teams… also, participated in three years of basketball… in baseball, named all-conference three consecutive years and All-State in final two seasons… captained baseball team junior and senior seasons… batted .491 during senior year… recipient of the Coca-Cola Scholar Athlete award as a senior… in football, named all conference twice and as a captain was named All-State in senior year… helped football team to two state championships … also captained the basketball team senior year…

Other: Played for Danbury Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League in the summers of 2008 and ‘09... in 2009, started 29 of the 34 games in which he appeared for the 19-22 Westerners, batting .245 with seven RBI, 14 runs and 12 walks… fielded .968 on 62 chances… started all 25 games in which he appeared for the 13-29 Westerners in 2008, batting .261 with seven RBI, 16 runs and 22 walks… fielded .925 on 67 defensive chances… member of Naugatuck American Legion baseball team from ’04 to ’06…
