Coach Holowaty: “Steve is one of our captains this year and probably one of our better hitters.  A catcher is an extremely important position, and he’s got to step up and be a key leader for us as a defensive ballplayer.”

High School: Four-year member and two-year starter of baseball program… selected to Central Mass all-star team senior year… also was named to all state team that same year… stole 33 bases and batted .501 during senior season (.492 career) … helped team to 15-6 record in ’08…

Other: Spent the summer of 2009 with the Niagara Power of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL)… batted .115 in 30 games for the 11-30 Power… started 28 games with nine RBI and fielded at .943 on 106 chances… three-year member of Wachusett American Legion baseball team … helped legion team win a team-record 11 in a row…
