Third-year member of the program… among six seniors on this year’s club and one of eight returnees to earn a first varsity letter last spring… …has been slowed in the pre-season due to a stress fracture in his back, but will contend for the starting left field job … has never started a game in the outfield at Eastern, making his eight career starts in the infield and at DH… among players with at least 50 career at-bats, is one of five with a career average above .300 (.308)…

COACH HOLOWATY: "Jon's been hurting right now, but has given us a real backbone in a positive manner in all the years he has been here. He is a very good person, very good student, and we thought he would be our left fielder this year but he has been hurt. It is too bad, because I think that he would have given us something. We needed maturity. I thought he would be a good hitter and a very good left fielder."

 LAST YEAR: Made the first eight starts of his career… shared the team lead in hit-by-pitch (5)… had the first two triples of his career, coming in back-to-back appearances… scored runs following both triples… raised his average 26 points in post-season play to .326… came off the bench in five of 11 post-season games, batting .500 in six at-bats… was 3-for-3, scored a run and handled three chances in the field without an error in three LEC tournament game… in his first season of eligibility, recipient of an Eastern/E-Club Scholar-Athlete Award…

HIGH SCHOOL :  Four-year starter on baseball team...captain of team senior year...received team MVP and all-conference second baseman during junior season...all-defensive and all-state as a member of both track and golf teams...
