![]() Formed in the summer of 1989 in response to many requests for swing music from Coast Guard Band concert audiences, “The Masters of Swing” spotlight swing-era music of the ’30s and ’40s, performing compositions by such jazz greats as Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and George Gershwin. Skillfully arranged by members of the group, the musical selections demand sparkling ensemble playing and highlight the performer’s improvisational expertise.
