Eastern takes pride in its 30,000 living alums, some of whom attended when it was known as the Willimantic State Teachers College over 60 years ago. Despite changes in its name, the addition of new buildings, and an increase in student population, Eastern has remained a community of learners bound by shared values and a unified educational experience. The university maintains strong ties with its alums through social gatherings, professional networking, and alumni services. Furthermore, Eastern's alumni support current students through scholarship funds, internship placements, mentorships, and other forms of assistance.

Zachary is a technical records analyst at Tsunami Tsolutions. “My history degree taught me to question every source of information I receive for accuracy. It also gave me the ability to look for trends in metadata so that my analysis is more complete.”

Connor Pollick
Social Work

Connor Pollick ’22

Connor interned with the Willimantic Police Department as a police social worker, where he assisted officers on nonviolent cases pertaining to mental health, homelessness and other issues. “I was not expecting every officer to be so open to a social worker coming into their police department, but they have been so welcoming and truly see the purpose a social worker has in the police setting.”
