Parents Fund
What is the Eastern Parents Fund?
The Parents Fund raises annual restricted gifts from parents of current students and parents of graduates that help the university enhance facilities as well as the services provided to students. These initiatives typically touch a broad number of undergraduates on a daily basis.
What does the Parents Fund support?
Since Dr. Elsa Núñez arrived at Eastern as President in 2006, proceeds from the Parents Fund have been used to fund a project supporting student needs each year. Those projects have included adding computer kiosks in the Student Center, substantially renovating the Burr Hall basement, adding new scoreboards in the Sports Center, creating a Parents’ Park near the Admissions Building and renovating the World Languages and Cultures Lab.
Who decides how to spend the money?
The Vice President for Institutional Advancement in conjunction with the Vice President for Student Affairs make recommendations on potential initiatives to the Parents Association.
