What is the
Eastern Parents Fund?
The Parents Fund raises annual restricted gifts
from parents of current students and parents of
graduates that help the university enhance facilities
as well as the services provided to students.
These initiatives typically touch a broad number
of undergraduates on a daily basis. What does the Parents Fund support?
In fiscal year 2006, Parents Fund gifts were used to establish Parents Park, featuring cedar benches and picnic tables and located just south of the Admissions Building.
In FY2007, Parents Fund gifts were used to purchase workout equipment in the newly refurbished Student Center. Last year, contributions will be used to purchase CarpetDeck, a classy floor covering that will be used to cover and protect the gymnasium floor when the facility is being used for events. This year, the Parents Fund will help pay for assessment testing in the Office of Counseling and Psychological Services for students needing those specialized services.
Who decides how to spend the money?
The Vice President for Institutional Advancement
in conjunction with the Vice President for Student
Affairs make recommendations on potential initiatives
to the Parents Association.
