| Thank
you for your interest in supporting Eastern Connecticut
State University. Each fiscal year (July 1-June 30),
gifts to the Eastern Annual
Fund support student scholarships, academic programs,
technology enhancements, student life, intercollegiate
athletics and many other programs. Your participation
is just as important as the size of your gift. Keep
in mind that most gifts are fully deductible under IRS
guidelines. The Parents
Fund enables parents/guardians to contribute to
initiatives that directly impact their child while he/she
is a student at Eastern.
Donors can make gifts using cash or checks (made out
the ECSU Foundation Inc.), credit cards including Visa,
MasterCard, Discover and American Express. In addition,
many companies will match your charitable gifts. You
can find out if your company has a matching gift program
by checking with your human resources office. A pledge
form is also available by clicking
here.
Listed below are the assets that can be used to make
a gift(s) to the Eastern Connecticut State University
Foundation (ECSU Foundation Inc.) to benefit the students
and university programs. If you have any questions about
transferring these assets, feel free to contact us (see
contact information below).
- Appreciated stock – can be especially attractive
because of enhanced tax savings. Other securities
such as mutual funds and some bonds can also be gifted.
- Appreciated real estate
- Gifts In Kind – gifts of property are deductible
within guidelines of the IRS and can especially benefit
university departments
Most of these assets can be used for planned gifts
as well as current outright gifts. Careful gift planning
can result in special tax benefits to the donor, sometimes
even increased income. Often they can solve special
estate or tax planning problems that confront donors.
