Fall Transfer Student Guide



Dare to be extraordinary at Eastern Connecticut State University. It’s a place where a love of learning is palpable—and the drive to make a difference is even more so. You are officially on your way to becoming a Warrior! This guide will help ensure that you are fully prepared for the start of the spring 2018 semester. All you have to do is follow these steps:


Step 1Activate your Eastern email account
Eastern email is the University’s official means of communicating with students and will be used to convey important information throughout your career at Eastern. Your username and email address are included in your letter of admission.
Please refer to the Email Activation handout in your admission packet for directions to activate your Eastern email account.
Step 2View your transfer credit evaluation (transfers only)
Once your official transcripts have been reviewed, the evaluation will be posted on eWeb Online Services: http://eweb.easternct.edu. You will also be able to check grades, view your Eastern transcript and more through your eWeb account.
Step 3Complete the FAFSA
File the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) in order to qualify for Eastern scholarships and grants.
Priority Date for Grant Aid: November 15, 2017

Step 4Secure your class schedule
TRANSFER STUDENTS: You may choose courses online, or schedule an in-person appointment. For either option, please visit http://www.easternct.edu/advising/new-transfer-students/

Please note: Students can pay their tuition deposit before registering for classes. Transfer and re-admitted students will be able to register with current Eastern students in their designated class (determined by number of earned credits).

FIRST-TIME FRESHMEN: Upon receipt of your tuition deposit (step 5), a schedule will be created for you based on your declared major of study. You will have the opportunity to review and make changes to this schedule at SOAR.
Step 5Submit non-refundable deposit
Deposits must be submitted to reserve courses and residence hall space as soon as possible. The University reserves the right to return deposits received after enrollment capacity has been reached. Payable at http://eweb.easternct.edu.

Students living on campus: $450 non-refundable tuition and housing deposit.

Students living off campus: $200 non-refundable tuition deposit.
Step 6Complete housing application
Three Easy Steps to Apply for Housing:

1. Pay the non-refundable $250 housing deposit (in addition to the $200 tuition deposit).
2. Visit http://www.easternct.edu/housing/apply-for-housing/ for detailed application instructions.
3. Check your Eastern email account for updates on the status of your housing application.

Hall placement will be determined in a first-come first-serve manner based on the date your housing requirements are fulfilled.
Step 7Reserve mandatory SOAR date
SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration) is an orientation program designed to introduce all new students to life on campus.

Visit www.easternct.edu/orientation/ and choose your student type (Freshman or Transfer) for detailed information and to register to attend a SOAR Session. Students must submit the non-refundable tuition deposit prior to reserving a SOAR date.
