Favorite Eastern Memory: My favorite memory at Eastern has been a culmination of my classroom learning about Indonesia, which greatly enriched my experience studying abroad in Indonesia in the Summer of 2017. The skills and knowledge gained in the classroom were complimented by the experience of experiencing a new language and culture.

Why Eastern? I decided to come to Eastern because of the Communication major. I liked the structure of the program and it stood out more than the other universities I applied to. I also like Eastern’s mission to create professional relationships with students and faculty in a smaller community.

What is it like living on campus? Living on campus is so much fun! It’s a great way to socialize and meet new people. My friends and I always have something to do, whether it be doing homework in the common room, hanging out at the Student Center, or going to special events on campus.

Where was your internship? I interned at the CT General Assembly in Hartford, CT! I attended meetings for the Higher Education Committee and a public hearing for CT Taxes, tracked and analyzed new bills, drafted speeches and testimonies & learned about the formal/informal aspects of the legislative process.
