American Association of University Professors (AAUP)
The AAUP enterprise consists of 1) the AAUP, a professional membership association that works to advance academic freedom and shared governance, to define fundamental professional values and standards for higher education, and to ensure higher education’s contribution to the common good; 2) the AAUP-CBC, a labor union that negotiates wages and working conditions of part-time and full-time teaching faculty, librarians, counselors, coaches and athletic trainers; and 3) the AAUP Foundation, a public charity. ECSU-AAUP is a chapter of the Connecticut State University – AAUP bargaining unit.
SUOAF/AFSCME has been the sole representative of Administrative-Faculty within the Connecticut State University System for the past 30 years.
The SUOAF website is designed to give SUOAF members at Eastern information on what is happening in their local and in the chapter. The website also provides members with quick, convenient access to the various benefits that are available to them, including information on Professional Development funding and salary increases. It also lists all Eastern SUOAF members by department. For those who lose their contract, a link to the contract is available, as well as links to the other three CSUS chapters (SCSU, CCSU, WCSU). In addition, letters from Union leadership are periodically placed on the website, as well as information about member promotions, upgrades, and merit raises for the purposes of congratulating those individuals.
