Eastern Connecticut State University. . .
. . . has spent the past year planning its future. More than 250 members of the university community—faculty, students, staff, administrators, alumni, and community members—have collaboratively developed a new vision, mission statement, values, and strategic initiatives. This process was led by the Committee on the Future of Eastern (COFE). The result is Eastern’s new 2008–2013 Strategic Plan, approved by the University Senate on November 6, 2007. I am excited by the innovative ideas that have been developed to date, and am encouraged by the involvement of so many members of our campus community. The next step is the creation of Implementation Teams for each strategic initiative. A guiding principle in this process will be to align Eastern’s budgeting and resource allocation with the University’s mission and vision. The implementation teams will use an inclusive process to develop the initiatives contained in the Strategic Plan, documenting their progress on this website. I invite you to visit the site frequently to stay current with implementation developments.
